Pauline Noble Miller died peacefully Wednesday at Merit Health River Region Hospital.Funeral services will be at Glenwood Funeral Home, Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 10 a.m.Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at Green Acres Cemetery.Pauline was born on Sept. 26, 1928, in Sherard, and grew up in Pattison, where she graduated from Port Gibson High School. She graduated from Mississippi Southern University (now University of Southern Mississippi) in elementary education. She taught school in Natchez before moving to Vicksburg, where she continued to teach at Halls Ferry Elementary.While teaching in Vicksburg she met Walter T. Miller. They were married August 7, 1955, and celebrated 53 years of marriage before his death in 2009. They made their home in Vicksburg where she was active in her church (now known as Cross Point Methodist Protestant Church), Porter’s Chapel Academy school activities, and the garden club.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Loretta Noble; two brothers, Clayton Noble, Troy Noble; sister, Nettie Francis Noble; husband, Walter T. Miller; and a nephew Steve Noble. She is survived by her daughters, Loretta McKinney (Dave) of Montgomery Ala., and Leanne Gilcrease (Rickey) of Bossier City La.; her sister, Mabel Noble of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Allison McKinney, Sean McKinney, Caitlynn Gilcrease, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nephews and great-nieces.Pallbearers will be Rickey Gilcrease, Sean McKinney, Justin Rushing, Jamie Jabour, Zachary Sullivan, and Frank Dawson.
