Marvin Daniel McKenzie Sr. died Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Merit Health Medical Center. He was 69.

Born in McComb, he was the son of the late Willie Ara McKenzie and Willie Louise McKenzie. He retired from the United States Army at the rank of staff sergeant. He had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1989 and owned McKenzie Mart for 20 years. He was an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by three brothers, Davis McKenzie, Bobby McKenzie and Alton McKenzie; and two sisters, Helen Jackson and Pauline McDaniel.

He is survived by his wife, Hye McKenzie; three sons, Marvin D. McKenzie Jr., Charles McKenzie (Brandi) and Jae Kim (Amy); two daughters, Margaret Sharp and Michelle Carter; 11 grandchildren, Chloe McKenzie, Nikolos McKenzie, Cayson McKenzie, Brantley Sharp, Jessica Throck Morton, Samantha Baumgartner, Tristan J. McKenzie, Cadence Carter, Skyler Carter, Hannah Gunnels and Courtney Kim; a sister, Myrtle McKlemurry; and five brothers, Willie Earl McKenzie, Willard McKenzie, Charles McKenzie, Bill McKenzie and Wayne McKenzie.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Riles Funeral Home, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
