Water main break forces early dismissal at WCHS, RCEC, Beechwood and Hinds

Due to a water outage affecting areas on Highway 27 and Paxton Road, Warren Central High School, River City Early College High School and Beechwood Elementary School will be dismissing early.

The high schools will be dismissing at 11 a.m., with Beechwood dismissing at 11:30 a.m. According to school officials, buses are being positioned.

Culkin Water District officials said Vicksburg crews laying a new gas line on Paxton Road hit a main water line causing the outage.

Career Tech classes at Hinds Community College Vicksburg campus are also cancelled for the remainder of the day.
