Best of the Best is back

It’s that time of year again.
We are pleased to launch the 2019 Best of the Best contest in the Thursday edition of The Vicksburg Post.
The contest touches the core of what we do by highlighting people and businesses in our community who make Vicksburg and Warren County the place we love to call home. It serves as a resource for newcomers and lifelong residents for the best businesses and services our area has to offer. And it offers those businesses a platform to brand themselves as such.
Categories in the contest will look familiar to those published last year, with a few new additions. This year, we still have overall categories of Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Business of the Year and Boss of the Year. These categories are meant to recognize and reward those in Warren County who are rated by our readers as the best overall at what they do.
We’ve also added some new categories like Best Gumbo, Best Bakery, Best Bar, Best Art Gallery, Best Furniture Store, Best Antique Store and Best Plumbing Service, to name a few.
Beginning Thursday, you will see printed ballots in The Vicksburg Post that allow you to choose Warren County’s favorite service providers, retail businesses, people and food. The contest is made up of three overall categories: Best People; Best Food, Drink & Dining; and Best Businesses and Places. The ballot will also appear in our Weekend edition and the Wednesday, Oct. 23 edition. The final time the ballot will appear in the newspaper will be the Weekend edition, Oct. 26-27.
Entering the contest is easy. Fill out the ballot with your choices and include your name and address. Ballots are accepted in our front office at 1601 N. Frontage Rd. Suite E, or through the mail addressed to P.O. Box 821668, Vicksburg, MS 39182. Entries must be turned in or postmarked no later than Monday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.
If highlighting your favorite people and places isn’t enough incentive to enter the contest, we’ll sweeten the pot. After the contest closes, we will draw from the ballots submitted the name of one lucky reader to win a $100 prize.
We look forward to recognizing those who have served our community so well.
