Mary Clyde Ellis

Mary Clyde Ellis died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, in Ridgeland. She was 79.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Natchez to the late Climmie Clyde Burrow and Fannie Buckley Burrow. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1963.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, where she was a member of the Gann-Sullender Sunday School Class and the Bible Explorers. She was also a member of the Openwood Plantation Garden Club and Green Hills Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Judge John E. Ellis Sr.; and a grandson, Bryton Ellis Ross.
She is survived by her children, John E. Ellis Jr. of Madison; Clyde Emil Ellis (Mary) of Ridgeland; and Bari Lynn Ellis-Ross (Matthew) of Hernando; seven grandchildren, Kristen Dianne Ellis, John Edward Ellis III, Christina Marie Hood (Matthew), Clyde Emil Ellis Jr., Briley Elizabeth Ross, Bristol Lynn Ross and Brynna Grace Ross; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at Riles Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, and Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Gann-Sullender Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
