Claiborne County murder suspect captured

PORT GIBSON — Claiborne County law enforcement officials have confirmed the search for a Claiborne County man wanted in the death of his girlfriend is over.

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department announced early Tuesday they had taken 31-year-old Darion Hill into custody and were transporting him back to Port Gibson. Additional details on Hill’s capture have not yet been announced.

Hill is wanted in the kidnapping and murder of his one-time girlfriend, Quawanda Hicks, 21.

Hicks’ body was found Dec. 26 on Willow Road in Claiborne County by a man on a four-wheeler. Former Claiborne County Sheriff Frank Davis said at the time Hicks had been shot and an autopsy was ordered. The couple was last seen together on Dec.19.
