Funeral services for Robert Lee Mays will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the graveside at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m. with Rev. Leonard Paulding with W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge.

Robert L. Mays passed away on Tuesday, March 17 in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a lengthy illness.  He was 62.

He was retired from the city of Vicksburg having worked in the Animal Control Department. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Mays and Georgia Lee Rush.

He is survived by his fiance’, Deborah Straughter of Vicksburg; his sons, Jerome Jones of Vicksburg and Jermain Mays of Gulfport; his daughter Monica Jones of Vicksburg, his brothers, Richard Clark and James Bradley both of Vicksburg, and Leonard Rush of Brandon; his sisters Helen Paulding of Aurora, Ill., Rosemary Shipp of Byhalia, and Patricia Jones of Brandon, and three grandchildren.
