State health officials 30 new cases of COVID-19; total now at 80

Mississippi State Department of Health officials reported Friday the number of positive COVID-19 coronavirus cases had jumped again and now total 80. There are still no confirmed cases in Warren County or Claiborne County.
The 30 new cases were reported across 16 counties.
The announcement comes one day after health officials announced the first virus-related death in the state.
In the release, the health department urged residents that in light of the additional cases, “preventive actions become more important for everyone. Avoid large gatherings, keep your distance in public, keep hands clean and stay home if you are sick.”

Monroe – 1
Pike — 1
Rankin — 3
Tippah — 3
Webster — 1
