Yazoo County woman in custody following Friday afternoon shooting

Yazoo County resident Summer McGee, 20, is in custody after reportedly shooting and killing a man Friday afternoon at New Main Apartments in Vicksburg.

McGee was captured in Yazoo County as she and another suspect fled the scene. While McGee is believed to have been the one who shot the 37-year-old male victim Friday afternoon, a male suspect is being sought for helping her leave the scene.

McGee is being charged with first-degree murder.

Currently, K-9 units with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office are searching woods near Highway 3 near Eagle Bend Road just inside Yazoo County. The search is being assisted by personnel with the Vicksburg Police Department.
