Funeral services for Joy Renette Wilson Babbs will be Sunday, May 24, at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Briscoe officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Following the directions of the Mayor’s office we are asking that the attendees be limited to 50 percent capacity of the church and no more than 50 persons.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Joy Wilson Babbs passed away Sunday, May 17, at Merit Health River Region after a brief illness.  She was 61. She was a member of Pleasant Hill M. B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Clara Louise Wilson Jr.; her brothers, Berlin Wilson and Earlene Joe Wilson; and her sisters, Zelma Lee Neal and Alberta Craft.

She is survived by her three daughters, Denise Davis Milton of Vicksburg, Frankie Davis of Maumelle, Ark., and Marie Davis of Vicksburg; her brother, Eddie Darnell Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev.; her three sisters, Margaret Evans and Clenton Tene Wilson, both of Vicksburg, and Betty Jean Felker of Griffith, Ind. and three grandchildren.
