Funeral services for Vivian Laverne Pierce are to be Saturday the 6 June in the Vicksburg City Auditorium at 2 p.m. with the Rev Dr. John H. Williams, Sr officiating.
Interment shall follow under the direction of W H Jefferson Funeral Home in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Following the directions of the Mayor’s office we are asking that the attendees be limited to 50 percent capacity and no more than 250 persons. There will be a visitation held on Friday, June 5, in the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. with social distancing guidelines being observed.
Vivian L. Pierce passed away on Friday, May 29, in her home following a lengthy illness. She was 57.
She was a pianist for many local churches for over 40 years and was a member of Greater Mount Lebanon M. B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Marie Veanious Horton Pierce Sr. her brothers, Leon Pierce Jr., Billy Pierce and Joseph G. Pierce., her sister Peggy Pierce.
She is survived by her daughter La Toya C. Thomas of Ridgeland; her brother Andrew L. Horton of Baton Rouge, La.; her five sisters, Deloris M. Pierce Green, Martha J. Pierce Robinson and Lee Theresa Lynn, all of Vicksburg, Debra Y. Pierce Robinson Clark of Ridgeland, Carrie Pierce Anderson and Gertie Leo, both of Oakland, Calif.; two aunts, Helen Horton and Margie Horton Akins; and a special friend Houston Allen of Vicksburg.
