Peggy Jo McCaskill Perkins died Saturday, June 6, 2020, at her residence. She was 87.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, she attended school in Keene, Texas, and married her husband, James, in 1952.

After the birth of her second daughter 61 years ago, she suffered a stroke that left her with left side weakness. However, she never let that interfere with living life to the fullest.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 2013.

Survivors include her daughters Dr. Jo (Mike) Deal and Cindy (Brian) Maier;  her grandchildren, Bryce (Lt. Rob) Buttrill, Lexie Maier, Lauren Deal and Ryan Deal and her faithful companion dachshund, Lucy.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery with Eruke OhwoFasa officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.
