Funeral services for Laquita Kinyattah Winters will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 2 p.m in the Vicksburg City Auditorium with the Rev. Dr. Michael Winters officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020, in the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.  Social distancing guidelines will be observed.

Laquita Winters passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020, in Atlanta following a brief illness. She was 36. She was a social worker for Stockbridge Dialysis Clinic.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Willie James Griffin Sr.; paternal grandmother, Albert Ann Young; and her brother, Cetric Griffin.

She is survived by her mother, Ingrid Griffin Winters of Vicksburg; father, Dewayne Winters; brother, Markeith Winters of Vicksburg; four sisters, Darnisha Winters of Hattiesburg, Sophia Moore, Tasha Smith, both of Vicksburg and Siddeequah Winters Matthews of Tacoma, Wash.; maternal grandmother, Mattie Griffin of Vicksburg; and paternal grandparents, Herman and Mary Winters of Vicksburg.
