Some games were blowouts. Some were close. There were upsets. All of them drew a response.

Nearly 2,000 votes were cast in the first round of The Vicksburg Post’s Greatest on the Gridiron tournament, a 32-team bracket where our readers will crown the best high school football team in Warren County history.

Voting in the 16 second-round matchups will begin Saturday at vicksburgpost.com, and continue until noon on Thursday, July 16. Readers can also clip the bracket included in today’s sports section and return it to our office at 1106 Washington St.
