Nearly 20 new COVID-19 cases reported this weekend in Warren County

Over the weekend, Warren County has reported an additional 19 cases of COVID, bringing the total number of cases reported in July alone to 265.
Sunday, officials with the Mississippi State Department of Health announced four additional cases in Warren County. Thus far, since the first case was reported in Warren County on March 29, 690 cases of COVID-19 have been reported with 22 virus-related deaths.
This weekend also marked the beginning of the city of Vicksburg’s mask mandate that requires anyone entering a business or public building — including churches — to wear a mask.
Also in Sunday’s report, the state reported 792 total new cases in the state, with 10 additional deaths. Since the state’s pandemic began on March 11, the state has reported 42,638 cases and 1,355 deaths.
Claiborne County Sunday reported it had reached 336 total cases and 11 deaths, while Yazoo County has now reached 610 cases and seven deaths.
Sharkey County is now reporting 64 total cases, with Issaquena reporting 14 cases and one virus-related death. Sharkey County continues to be just one of two counties in the state to not yet report a virus-related death. The other is Benton County.
