A main cut-through for those looking to get from Mission 66 to Cherry Street will be blocked beginning Monday.

The city of Vicksburg announced Sunday that beginning Monday, and lasting for about a week, East Avenue, between Weems and Evans, will be closed. As part of the announcement, the city said that through traffic, between Cherry and Mission, will not be allowed.

In addition to using social media, residents in the area received Code Red notices by phone Sunday afternoon.
