Funeral services for Johnny Davenport Jr. will be Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, from 6 to 7 p.m. with strict social guidelines observed.

Johnnie Davenport Jr. passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, in the Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson following a brief illness. He was 69.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Fannie Boyd Davenport Sr.; his son, Kevin Davenport; and his sister, Gloria Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Davenport of Vicksburg; his three sons, John Ray Nicholson of Port Gibson, Johnny Ross and Alfred Ross both of Vicksburg; his five daughters, Tenisha Newsome, Okisa Martin, Patricia Ross and Diana Ross-Watson all of Vicksburg and Lori Brown of Hermanville; his three brothers, Larry Davenport, George Young Jr. and Willie Boyd all of Vicksburg; two uncles and aunt; and 38 grandchildren.
