John Michell Heggins passed away at Greenwood Leflore County Hospital on Aug. 7, 2020. He was 74 years old. 

John was a longtime resident of Greenwood. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood. He was retired from Waterways Experiment and the Division Army Corps of Engineers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Linda Heggins; his father, Lyman Wilson Heggins; and his mother, Ina Mae Heggins, and many siblings.

John is survived by two brothers, Billy Heggins of Tennessee and Albert Harrison of Leslie, Ark.; and two sisters, Helen He and Ancyie Greer. 

Visitation will be noon Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at Glenwood Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Heggins, Lyman Greer, Billy Joe Heggins, Michael Perry and Mitchell Greer.
