County records 30 new COVID-19 cases with two deaths

After two days with a total of six cases, Warren County reported 30 new cases of the COVID-19 virus and two new deaths, according to information released Tuesday by the Mississippi State Department of Health.

The county reported a one-day record of 56 new cases Saturday. That was followed by four reported cases with one death Sunday, and two cases Monday. The new cases bring the county’s total to 1,195 cases with 35 deaths.

Statewide, Mississippi reported 644 new cases for a total of 68,293. The state also reported 33 new deaths, bringing that total to 1,944.

In the neighboring counties, Yazoo County reported eight new cases, raising its total to 841 since March. Claiborne County reported no new cases of the virus but did have one death for a total of 14.

Issaquena County reported one new case to raise its total to 27, with no new deaths. Sharkey County reported seven new cases to raise its total to 206 with no new deaths.
