Funeral services for Sherry Ann Green Fisher are to be held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, in the Vicksburg Convention Center at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Adrian Clark officiating. Interment shall follow under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, from 1 to 6 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m. Social guidelines will be observed and facial coverings shall be worn inside the building.  

Sherry Ann Green Fisher went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020. She was 79. She had retired from the Vicksburg Warren School District and was known colloquially as “Moma Gator.” She was a member of Porter’s Chapel M.B. Church.  She was also a member of the Links, Inc. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Camille Art Literary Club and the Negro Business Professional Women’s Club.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eliza Ann Richardson Green; her husband, Horace Fisher; her brothers, James Louise Wesley Green, and Harold Lloyd McWade Sr. 

She is survived by her three sons, Horace Darryl Fisher of Monroe, La., Harold Lloyd McWade Jr of Clinton, and Derrick DeWayne “Kwami” Fisher of Odenville, Ala.; her daughter, Shirley Ann Walker of Vicksburg; her two sisters, Rosemary Green Spears of Vicksburg and Dolly White of Chicago, Ill; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
