Funeral services for Bertha Marie Harris will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, in the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.   

Bertha Marie Hill went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, in the home of her sister in Fayette. She was 92. She had worked as a housekeeper and was a member of the Traveler’s Rest M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Vadie Gaines Patterson Sr.; her son, Andrew Harris; her four brothers, Roosevelt Patterson Jr., Sammie Davis Patterson, Thea Benard Patterson and James Patterson; and her five sisters, Emma Lee Rankin, Viola Jones, Rosa Lee Fells, Azel Hutchins and Annette Cruell. 

She is survived by her brother, Benard Rankins Jr. of New Orleans, La.; her three sisters, Juanita Brown of Chicago, Louella Mae Wilson of Shreveport, La. and Shirley Green of Fayette.
