Clancy Ruth Clark

Clancy Ruth Clark, 73, passed away on Friday, Sep. 11, 2020, at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, where she made her home with her husband of 25 years. She was born in Morgantown, W.V. on Feb. 6, 1947, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Jane Gregory who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her first husband Eston Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.

She is survived by her husband and caregiver, Alvin Clark; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Kristie Gregory of Morgantown, W.V.; her son, Lee Kirkland also of Morgantown, W.V.; a grandson, Zachary Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.

Clancy Ruth graduated from Morgantown High School. Prior to moving to Mississippi she worked and lived in Douglas, Ga. In midlife, she graduated from South Georgia College with a nursing degree and worked as an RN.

As per Clancy’s wishes, she will be cremated. Arrangements are being handled by Jackson Memorial Funeral Service, located at 1000 W. Woodrow Wilson Ave., Jackson, MS 39213.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.

Donations will be accepted by the family to assist with Clancy’s medical expenses.

Attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to the precautions of COVID-19.
