On Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, Rick Tillotson passed away, leaving his family and friends to remember him as Rick, Rickie, Dad, and Grandy.

Rick was known to be “a kind man who loved his family and his Lord, a principal who personally cared about his students and their parents, a musician from the heart, a mentor.” He was the best,” a man who lived his life with joy.”

Rick’s family includes his dad, Jack Tillotson, Sr.; brother, Jack, Jr.; and son Stephen, all of whom went before him.

Missing him already are his wife, Julie; his son, Neil (Anna) and their children Sawyer, Luke and Beckett; Rick’s mother, Barbara Tillotson; his siblings, Kevin (Karen), Jamie (Jennifer), Chris (Celeste), Barbara Bennett (Keith), brothers-in-law David Woods (Babs), Paul Woods; and all nieces and nephews with whom he formed cherished relationships.

Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 24, from 4 until 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at First Baptist Church.

Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. Matt Buckles presiding over the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Pennebaker, Bryan Burt, Dennis Morgan, Tommy Smith, Jeff Holland and Dan McAuley.
