Corbin Burroughs helped St. Aloysius finish the year with a hat trick in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.
Burroughs, a junior midfielder with St. Al’s soccer team, received 325 of the 730 votes cast in this week’s online poll of The Post’s readers to win the award. It’s the third week in a row that a St. Aloysius athlete has won it.
Warren Central soccer player Colby Solomon finished second, with 177 votes, and Vicksburg High soccer player Trinity McGloster was third with 149. Porter’s Chapel Academy basketball player Noah Porter was fourth with 79 votes.
Burroughs scored both of his team’s goals in a 2-0 win against MAIS Division II West rival Delta Streets on Dec. 14.
