Don Render Werden, ex-Vicksburg ballplayer, died in Minneapolis. • The Y’s Men’s Club awarded Crawford McGivaren the president’s trophy for outstanding service. • Rosie Lee Peoples and Jack Roberts were married.

Don Reeder of the LeTourneau Company addressed the local Kiwanis Club. • Eudie Kavanaugh received a letter from Mrs. C.S. Roberts describing life in Mexico. • Meta Lynn Shanka left for Bob Jones College in Cleveland, Texas.

Jesse Boyd former Claiborne County resident, died in Houston, Texas. • Services were held for George Spivey. • Mr. and Mrs. George Batchelor announced the birth of their son, Michael.
