J.F. William Hand was re-elected monarch of Perio Grotto. • Ashmead Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, presented an American flag to Clay Street School. • Moselle Smith was visiting Genevieve Wilde in Jackson.

Y.L. Abbot died. • Mrs. Ruth Featherston was recuperating from surgery at Vicksburg Hospital. • Mrs. Florence O’Bannon died.

J.M. McKeown was elevated to executive vice president of the Merchants National Bank and Trust Co. • Serves were held for Dr. D.P. Street. • Oscar Harvey was elected cashier of the First National Bank and Trust Co. • Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bailey announced the birth of a daughter, Norma Jean.
