Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hossley returned from New Orleans. • Mrs. Lottie Lowry died. • L. Baer and her daughter left for New York.

Mrs. Betty Langford returned from a visit to relatives in Tennessee. • Nell Preston returned to Washington D.C. • The Culkins Blues beat the S.F.X.A. Blue Streaks 28-27. • Students at All Saints College presented “Princess Chrysanthemum,” a Japanese Opereretta.
80 Years Ago: 1944
Lawrence Hennessey was elected president of the newly organized Lions Club. • Mrs. Mary Musgove died. • A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Ables.
70 Years Ago: 1954
Mrs. Elmer Austin was ill at the Infirmary. • Services were held for Tom Scott. • Mrs. Francis Leyens was visiting in New Orleans.
60 Years Ago: 1964
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnston announced the birth of a son, Edward. • Navy Ensign Robert K. Purks was now stationed aboard the carrier U.S.S. Hornet. • Lt. Col. and Mrs. C.H. Mackey returned to make their home in Vicksburg, following Lt. Col. Mackey’s retirement.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Don C. Banks was elected president of the Engineers Club. • Jerome Polk Booth and Marilyn Muffuletto announced their wedding plans. • Mary Frances Hughes received a 20-year commemorative charm at the Westinghouse Interior Lighting Division Plant.
40 Years Ago: 1984
Auston Wilkerson Jr. and Reynard Gray took advantage of good weather and rode their bikes in a front yard on Cherry Street. • Tonia Sellers and Teresa Morrison, both of Troop No. 433, advertised that they were taking orders for Girl Scout Cookies. • Berdon Moody, a former resident of Vicksburg and Bovina, died and was buried here.
