Officials with the Warren County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) continue providing updates as winter weather moves through the area Monday night, with the latest information concerning road closures.
“The ramp going up the hill from 61 North to Culkin Rd. is closed due to ice,” EMA officials posted on Facebook. “Please use an alternate route. If you do not have to be out on the roads please stay home and stay safe!”
Warren County remains under a winter weather advisory until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
“In the elevated area, a mix of freezing rain and sleet will develop Monday and continue into Monday night with travel becoming hazardous,” EMA officials said Monday afternoon.
While Warren County is currently below the “significant threat” area, it is located inside what the National Weather Service in Jackson calls the “elevated threat” area, meaning the likelihood of sleet and freezing rain, hazardous roadways, and downed trees and power lines remains high.
