Howard Michael “Mike” Strickland

Howard Michael “Mike” Strickland passed away Sun., Jan. 14.
Mike was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Mobile, Ala. He grew up spending time with his beloved grandparents, Ruth Ann White and Captain James White.
He attended Cooper High School in Vicksburg. Mike was a veteran who served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Mike was the owner of Strick’s Seafood, known for having the best in town. He was a long-time resident of the Eagle Lake community, where he was the bar owner of Strick’s for several years.
He loved to boil seafood and play pool. He was always the life of the party.
Mike loved attending his son’s Friday night football games and made the drive to see him play no matter where the game was being played. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He loved going to the beach and being out in the sun.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ann Lehmon and Howard Etoy Strickland, and his sisters, Tondia Ann Strickland and Covette Hayes.
Mike is survived by a son, Michael Strickland (Laura Beth); daughters, Tiffany Lambert, Kori Marascalco (Bentley Brodnax), and Samantha Johnson (JR); his sister, Dezirae Fink; grandchildren, Erin Lambert, Sawyer Marascalco, Kase Murtaugh, Hazie Kate Murtaugh, May Strickland, Michael Strickland, Hunter Strickland, and Hadley Strickland. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thurs., Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jacob’s Ladder Learning Center or Rainbow Farms.
