Monti Neff and Ellis Coles were married. • Ellen Vanderburg died. • The remains of J.T. McClellan were taken to Tallulah for burial.

Mamie Ellis died. • A marriage license was issued to Ralph Oakes and Ada Mae Muirhead. • Leone Clark was visiting in El Paso, Texas. • Deaconess Katherine Putnam spoke at a University of Women’s Club meeting.

Harry K. Murray Jr. completed Quantico, Virginia’s Marine Reserve Officers Training School. • Gov. Thomas L. Bailey discussed the then-current problems in an address before the annual homecoming of the L.C. Boosters Club.

The Rev. J.A. Holloway was back in the pulpit at Grace Baptist Church after an illness. • Services were held for Kate Vaughn. • The Rev. A. J. Jefferson died.

Pearl Marcom was elected president of the Delta Kappa Gamma honorary society for teachers in Tallulah. • Services were held for Simon Campbell. • Debbie Jabour was crowned beauty salon queen by the Vicksburg Hairdresser Unit No. 21 at their annual banquet.

The St Aloysius girls basketball team won 47-43 over Pelahatchie. • Cathy Kay Dodson was engaged to marry Mark Elwin Holmes. • Ken Cooper, head coach, and 11 other Ole Miss coaches were honored by the Warren County Ole Miss Alumni Chapter.
