Each year, The Vicksburg Post selects the top local athletes in a number of sports for its All-County teams. Fourteen players were selected for the 2023 boys’ All-County soccer team, led by Player of the Year Tyler Godshaw of Warren Central.
Godshaw, a senior, had a team-high 18 goals and five assists to lead the Vikings to the MHSAA Region 2-6A championship and the Class 6A semifinals — the first time since 1993 they have advanced that far in the playoffs. He has signed to play at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
Warren Central boys coach Greg Head was also selected as the Co-Coach of the Year, along with WC girls’ coach Jeremy Lawrence.
The other All-County players represented their schools — Vicksburg, Warren Central, St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy — well. Congratulations to all of them!
