Priscilla Jean Rampy passed away peacefully in Roswell, Ga. Monday, March 18. Priscilla Jean was born December 8, 1945, to Annie Lucille Henderson Keck and Melvin Keck.

Priscilla Jean was a lifelong resident of Mississippi, living her early years of life in Benton with her mother and great-aunt Lucy Ogden Henderson.

She enjoyed her college years in Oxford, home of the University of Mississippi, affectionately known as Ole Miss. Her chosen career brought her to Jackson and Vicksburg for most of her lifetime.

She resided in Vicksburg until her move to Roswell in February 2023 to be near her family. Priscilla Jean was a graduate of the University of Mississippi attaining her bachelor’s of science in nursing.

As a registered nurse for more than 40 years, she held numerous positions and increased responsibilities. Her most loved position was in directly serving patients and their families.

They were the reason she became a nurse. Over her career, she served at St. Dominic, Mississippi Baptist, Jackson Medical in Jackson and Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg.

Upon retirement, she continued private caregiving in Vicksburg and the surrounding areas.

She also loved thrifting and collecting antiques, and at one time was the owner of two shops in the Vicksburg area.

She loved her medical career and the people she served, especially those who had encountered trials and losses in their lives and needed help.

She understood both and the effect loss could have on one’s life.

Priscilla Jean was preceded in death by her precious son, Christopher at age 5 in 1987… life-changing for her. Others who preceded her in death included her beloved mother, Lucille Henderson Keck; her uncle, Thomas Dixon “Dick” Henderson (and wife Virginia); and her great aunt, Lucy Ogden Henderson.

She will be so missed by her Georgia family members, cousins Donna Jean Johns (Henderson, Wayne Johns), Christy Lynn Dye (Henderson), and Thomas Dye (wife April, children Jordan, Alexa and Brendon). She will also be missed and remembered fondly by her Mississippi and Georgia friends and those who served Priscilla Jean so beautifully in her last years.

Her family is forever thankful to all those who lovingly cared and served. As one young nurse said to our Jean one day, “You served so many, it’s our turn to serve you.” She reflected the sacrificial love of Christ and touched the hearts of everyone in the room that day.

A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held to honor the life of Priscilla Jean in Vicksburg with a cemetery service to be held after at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.

A date will be announced at a future time.
