St. Aloysius distance runner Samantha Edwards won the girls’ 3,200 meter run at the MAIS Class 5A South State meet on Wednesday. She had a time of 11 minutes, 54.98 seconds and won by 36 seconds.

Field events and the 3,200 meters for the South State meet were held Wednesday, and the rest of the running events are scheduled for Saturday at Silliman Institute in Clinton, Louisiana. Edwards will return to the track then to compete in the 800 and 1,600 meters.
