Jacob Mahin died. • The home of Buck Keithley was badly damaged by fire. • Harvey Grant was injured in an auto accident near Ferriday, La.

Maj. L.G. Hider, former superintendent of the Vicksburg National Military Park, was visiting from Alaska. • W.N. Rogers was a patient at Mercy Hospital. • Services were held for Peter E. Harrison.

Paul Barrett and James Ables were elevated to captains in the Vicksburg Police Department. • Services were held for Lena Wilson, former Ruleville resident. • Claude McDougal died.
