Monroe – Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) Tallulah Campus recently celebrated its practical nursing graduates with a pinning ceremony.
Scott Cox, LDCC campus director, said these dedicated women are poised to make a significant impact on their communities, equipped with the skills and knowledge they’ve honed throughout their rigorous training.
“The practical nursing course is a challenging journey,” Cox said. “It demands unwavering commitment, and these students have admirably risen to the occasion.”
With the nationwide demand for allied healthcare workers on the rise, these graduates are entering a field where their expertise is eagerly sought after, often securing employment even before they complete their studies, Cox added.
The next challenge for these graduates is to pass the state licensure exam, after which they will officially become licensed practical nurses. Meanwhile, a new cohort of students will begin their journey in August at both the Tallulah and Lake Providence campuses.
Prospective students are encouraged to contact either campus for admission requirements.
“Interested individuals will need to take the Accuplacer test and pass the reading, math, and writing sections,” explains Whitni Smith, the campus coordinator and financial aid advisor for the Tallulah and Lake Providence campuses.
Once they pass the Accuplacer, Smith said, students can apply to the practical nursing program.
