Adalyn Anderson, IF/Warren Central, Sr. — Finished with a .296 average, six doubles and 22 RBIs ... scored 21 runs and had 13 stolen bases
Ruthie Britton, IF/St. Aloysius, So. — Good young first baseman led the Lady Flashes with 22 RBIs ... batted .273 with six doubles, two home runs and 14 runs scored
Marley Bufkin, IF/Porter’s Chapel, Jr. — Lady Eagles’ shortstop led the team with a .462 batting average ... had 18 RBIs and scored 38 runs
Sarah Cameron Fancher, IF/Warren Central, Sr. — Four-year starter at shortstop batted .361 ... scored a team-high 54 runs and had 26 stolen bases ... East Central Community College signee
Harmony Harris, IF/Vicksburg, Fr. — Slugging first baseman batted .424, with two home runs and a team-high 21 RBIs
Megan Theriot, IF/St. Aloysius, Fr. — Had a .415 batting average for the Lady Flashes ... led the team with 10 doubles and 28 runs scored
Tyra Bridges, OF/Warren Central, Sr. — Lady Vikes’ left fielder batted .329 , with five doubles and 26 RBIs
Makayla Jackson, OF/Warren Central, Sr. — Lady Vikes’ leadoff hitter had a .437 on-base percentage and scored 40 runs ... stole 24 bases ... Mississippi Delta Community College signee
Maddy McSherry, OF/St. Aloysius, Sr. — Senior outfielder had a .356 batting average ... drove in 15 runs and scored 23 ... had 20 stolen bases
Jenn Smith, OF/Warren Central, Sr. — Excellent center fielder led the Lady Vikes in batting average (.433) and doubles (10), and ranked second in RBIs (34) and runs scored (45) ... Northwest Mississippi Community College signee ... only had two errors in 43 fielding chances
Kyleigh Cooper, P/St. Aloysius, Jr. — Excellent pitcher had a 2.10 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 106 2/3 innings ... also a hitting force, with a team-best .459 batting average and 15 RBIs
Avery Van Norman, C/Vicksburg, Jr. — Junior catcher led the Missy Gators with a .426 batting average ... hit six doubles and drove in 14 runs
Ali Blackmon, C/Porter’s Chapel, Sr. — Senior catcher batted .360, with 11 RBIs and 19 runs scored
Emily Muirhead, Util./Porter’s Chapel, Fr. — Versatile player saw time at first base, pitcher and in the outfield ... batted .333 and scored 29 runs ... had 68 strikeouts in 60 2/3 innings pitched
Trinity McGloster, Util./Vicksburg, Jr, — Infielder and pitcher batted .375, with nine doubles, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored
Madison Spencer, DH/St. Aloysius, So. — Lady Flashes’ catcher had a breakout season at the plate, batting .385 with five doubles, two triples and 11 RBIs
At the end of each high school sports season, The Vicksburg Post honors Warren County’s best athletes in a number of sports with its All-County teams.
The 2024 All-County softball team features 17 of the area’s top players from Warren Central, Vicksburg High, St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy.
The list is led by Warren Central sophomore Madison Pant, who excelled both in the pitcher’s circle and at the plate and earned the Player of the Year award. Pant had a .372 batting average, with two home runs, seven doubles, and a team-high 46 RBIs. As a pitcher, she posted a a 16-7 record, with a 2.48 ERA and 144 strikeouts.
Warren Central’s Brian Ellis is The Post’s Coach of the Year for Warren County. In his first season with the Lady Vikes, he led them to a 22-8 record — the program’s best since 2014 — and reached the second round of the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs.
Ellis, who previously spent 10 years at Vicksburg High, is The Post’s Coach of the Year for the fourth time in the past nine seasons.
