Hayes Fuller and Lawrence Hennessey returned from Notre Dame University. • Norienne Buckley opened a summer school. • The Honorable Theo G. Birchett was the principal speaker at the Elks’ Flag Day exercise.

Piggly Wiggly defeated the U.S. Engineers 4 to 3. • Mr. and Mrs. Perry Elder and their son left for Monroe, La., where they would make their home. • Clarabelle Drake, of Jefferson County, was the guest of Bessie Durham.

Judge and Mrs. P.C. Canizaro returned from a visit of several weeks at Hot Springs, Ark. • Mrs. Charles Breithaupt was elected president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Services were held for Clarence E. Hude. • Mr. and Mrs. Milton Dennis announced the birth of their son, Thomas. • Mr. and Mrs. William Skates, of Port Gibson, announced the birth of their son, James Michael.

Ron Caimano was named general manager of the Vicksburg Holiday Inn. • Dorothy Dean returned from a two-week trip to the Hawaiian Islands. • Darlene Leggett won a trip to England and France.
