Funeral services for Cheryl Steven, 77, of Vicksburg, formerly of Winnsboro, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, in the chapel of Dennard First National Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Cochran and the Rev. Fran Guy officiating.
Cheryl was born April 14, 1947, in Winnsboro to the union of the late Sidney I. Brooks and the late Minnie Ruth Stampley and passed from this life on Friday, June 14, in Vicksburg.
Cheryl graduated from Winnsboro High School and earned her master’s plus 30 from NLU and served the children of Franklin Parish as an educator for more than 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 49 years Jimmy Steven.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include: her daughter, Samantha Bailey and husband Phillip of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Keegan Blount, Allie Blount, Callum Bailey and Graham Bailey; a special friend who was like a daughter, Donya Bradley and her daughter Remington Bass of Winnsboro; her best friend, who was more sister than a friend, Francine Pfaff; brothers-in-law, Sam Steven and wife Lindy of Winnsboro, and Harry Steven and wife Kay of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Susan McWilliams of Zachary; a host of other relatives and friends.
Jimmy Bailey, Tommy Blackmon, Michael Griffith, Ron Smith, Sid Smith, and Johnny Williams will be pallbearers.
Glen Gardner, Jerry Martin, John O’Bannon, John Pfaff, and Brandon Sims will be honorary pallbearers.
