A Covington County man was arrested for stealing a vehicle Friday, according to information from Vicksburg Police Department (VPD).

George Mickel, 43, of Collins, was taken into custody at 8 p.m. after he was seen stealing a vehicle from the parking lot of the Circle K convenience store located at 3140 Indiana Avenue, VPD officials said.

Mickel appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday, where he faced a charge of auto theft. He received a $40,000 bond from Judge Penny Lawson and was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
