An attempted traffic stop over the weekend led to a Vicksburg man’s arrest on multiple charges.

According to information from Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), 29-year-old Dikembe Stewart was arrested Sunday at 10:24 p.m. after he fled from officers who attempted to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation.

Stewart made his initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday to face charges of felony eluding and possession of a
firearm by a felon. Judge Angela Carpenter set his bond at $35,000 and bound him over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
