For the third year in a row, St. Aloysius will have a new girls basketball coach.

K.K. Willis announced Saturday that she is stepping down from her position at St. Al to join the coaching staff at Jackson Prep. Willis will be the head coach of Prep’s eighth-grade team, and assist with the varsity and junior high teams.

Willis was a basketball star at Porter’s Chapel Academy in the early 2000s. She was hired in February 2023 and spent one season as St. Al’s coach, after Savannah Buck held the job for two years.

“I’ll never forget or be able to express enough gratitude to my Flashes family for the opportunity y’all gave me,” Willis wrote on social media in announcing the move. “You welcomed me with open arms, worked around my school schedule and caretaking for my Dad as I first started the job, treated me like family, contributed to needs for the girls basketball program, and walked with me through the loss of a dad and sister while showing me great love in a year and a half’s time. I couldn’t have asked for a better first school as I entered back into this game I love.”
