A Vicksburg man has been booked into the Warren County Jail and will face charges related to the Sunday-night shooting of two teenage girls.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said 22-year-old Jaques Lee Bailey was arrested just after 4:30 p.m. Monday at a family member’s home on Court Street in Vicksburg.

“We had a suspect early on,” Pace said. “The challenge was just to locate him.”

Pace said Bailey is charged with two counts of aggravated assault after he allegedly opened fire on the two female victims just after 6 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Abraham Drive following a verbal altercation.

Pace said one victim was shot in the “hip area,” while the other’s head was “grazed” by a bullet. Both teenagers were treated at Merit Health River Region hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Pace said Bailey was out on bond at the time of the shooting following a narcotics arrest by the Vicksburg Police Department. Pace said Bailey will likely make an initial court appearance Tuesday in Warren County Court, depending on the court’s schedule.
