2 minors arrested in City Pavilion shooting

A shooting that injured multiple people Friday, June 28, at City Pavilion has resulted in the arrest of two minors, according to information released this week by Vicksburg Police Department (VPD).

VPD officials said a 16-year-old suspect and a 14-year-old suspect were taken into custody Tuesday and each charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

VPD Investigator Jerrold Hayes said the shooting took place sometime after 9 p.m. at the pavilion, located at 100 Army Navy Drive.

VPD has not released information about a possible motive for the shootings; however, officials said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are “pending.”
