One woman is dead and a Vicksburg man is in police custody after an early morning stabbing Friday in a home on Clark Street.

Vicksburg police arrested 49-year-old Roosevelt Harris in connection with the death of 50-year-old Christina Ware, also of Vicksburg.

According to information from Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), officers responded to the residence in the 800 block of Clark Street Friday at 4:11 a.m. Once on the scene, officers found Ware dead inside the home and Harris was detained for questioning.

VPD officials have not yet released official charges for Roosevelt, who is being held without bond until his initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday.
