Funeral services for Janie B. Jackson Thomas are to be held Saturday, July 20, in the Greater Grover M.B. Church at noon. with the Rev. Mincer Minor officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, from 1 to 6 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m. at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Janie B Jackson Thomas, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Saturday, July 6, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness.  She was 76.
She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jackson Sr. and Josie Smith Jackson; two brothers, Willie Smith and Charlie Jackson; and one sister, Stella Burns.
She is survived by her daughter, Katrina Zachery; a brother, James Jackson Jr., of Vicksburg; and four sisters, Gertrude Williams, Ora Carson and Lynda F. Jackson, all of Vicksburg, and Annie Jordan, of Kinston, NC.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
