Updated: Top 25 teams move on after day 1 of River Monsters tourney (with photo gallery)

The Bill Dance Mississippi River Monsters Mega Buc$ Pro Series catfish tournament’s day one is in the books and 25 teams have advanced to day two.

The top 25 teams will vie for a $100,000 grand prize Sunday, with teams placing in second through tenth places splitting the remaining $100,000 purse.

Team totals came from the combined weights of up to three submitted catfish.

Saturday’s top ten included: No. 1, Carl Morris and Rob Parsons with a total weight of 146.37 lbs; No. 2, Team Indy with a total weight of 128.10 lbs; No. 3, Nick and Jack Dimino with a total weight of 126.80 lbs; No. 4, Team Cat Baby with a total weight of 121.12 lbs; No. 5, Benningfield/Eiselt with a total weight of 117.52 lbs; No. 6, Show Me Catfishing with a total weight of 107.25 lbs; No. 7, Joe Rechner with a total weight of 105.25 lbs; No. 8, Monster Rod Holders with a total weight of 99.32 lbs; No. 9, Chris DeBow and Vic Shepherd with a total weight of 98.61 lbs; No. 10, Team Dewitt with a total weight of 98.24 lbs.

Saturday’s top teams for big fish were: No. 1, Benningfield/Eiselt, 78.45 lbs; No. 2, Team Indy, 54.34 lbs.
