VFD, State Fire Marshal investigating cause of house fire

Fire officials are working to determine the cause of a fire that broke out early Thursday morning at a home on Woodstock Drive.

Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said firefighters were dispatched to 122 Woodstock Drive at approximately 5:50 a.m.

“Upon arrival, fire crews observed visible smoke coming from the structure,” Stamps said. “The crews made forcible entry into the home to search for the source of the smoke. Once inside, the fire was discovered upstairs in a bedroom.”

Stamps said no one was injured in the incident and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Vicksburg Fire Department, in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal’s Office, is investigating the cause of the incident.
