Vicksburg man arrested for possession of nearly 2 pounds of marijuana

A Vicksburg man facing felony possession of marijuana made his initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday.

According to information from Vicksburg Police Department (VPD), 28-year-old Damond Anderson was arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop.

“Officers stopped a Nissan Maxima for a traffic violation on Halls Ferry Road at 3:06 a.m.,” VPD officials said. “A search of the vehicle revealed nearly two pounds of marijuana inside the car. The driver, Damond Anderson, 28, of Vicksburg was arrested at the scene.”

Anderson appeared Monday in front of Judge Angela Carpenter. His bond was set at $50,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
