Vicksburg Catholic School to hold prayer service for recent graduate killed in shooting

Vicksburg Catholic School will hold a prayer service Tuesday at 7 p.m. following the shooting death of recent St. Aloysius graduate Korey Sims.

“Please join us as we pray for Korey Sims, his family and his classmates,” Vicksburg Catholic School posted on social media Monday. “The graduating class of 2024 invite you to a prayer service to honor the life and memory of their beloved classmate and friend Tuesday, August 6 at 7 p.m. in the St. Aloysius gymnasium.”

Sims was killed in a shooting that also injured three others Sunday night at a home on Abraham Drive. No arrests have yet been made and the investigation remains open.

Vicksburg Catholic School officials said the class of 2024 will be taking donations to help Sims’ family with the cost of funeral expenses.

Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) officials said anyone with any information concerning Sunday’s shooting should call WCSO at 601-636-1761 and ask to speak to an investigator. Information may also be given anonymously to Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers by calling 601-355-TIPS (8477).
