Nominations open for ‘200 Faces of Vicksburg’

Published 7:16 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2024

As the Vicksburg 200 Committee prepares to celebrate the city’s 2025 Bicentennial, it aims to honor 200 individuals—groups or organizations—who made a lasting impression on the community. Nominations are open for those who significantly contributed to the growth, development, and spirit of the town. Whether through leadership, innovation, community service, or other impactful actions, the committee is asking the public to help recognize those who have shaped Vicksburg’s legacy.

These “200 Faces of Vicksburg” will be cited throughout the 2025 Bicentennial year, and their names and contributions will be a vital part of the five pillar events (listed below), Vicksburg 200 Committee members said. Nominees may be living or deceased and do not have to have been born in Vicksburg; they just have to have made a significant contribution to the city.

Nominations will be accepted through August 31, 2024. The committee will accept both digital and printed submissions. View full list of nomination criteria and download or submit the application at https://www.vicksburg200.com/200-faces-of-vicksburg?
